Special Report on the Abraham Baldwin
To commemorate the legacy of the University’s founder, Abraham Baldwin, a one-time alumni initiative will commission a statue to be created and erected on historic North Campus.
Much admiration is due to Abraham Baldwin. He is not only the esteemed founder of the University of Georgia, but is known as the father of public higher education. After 225 years, the charter he authored remains at the very heart of the University of Georgia, and Baldwin’s spirit lives on in the generations of loyal alumni who have benefited from his exhaustive efforts.
There is no better organization to lead alumni support of this project than the UGA Alumni Association—an organization serving more than a quarter million graduates across the globe and proudly supporting the academic excellence, best interests, and traditions of the University of Georgia.
