Donor Gifts

Gifts to the University of Georgia Foundation may be earmarked for a specific purpose, or they may be undesignated - to be applied in ways that will best help meet the University's current needs. Unrestricted gifts are particularly valuable because they can be used to provide resources and assistance that often cannot be attained through earmarked funds. While the Foundation's chief priority is academic enrichment through scholarships, faculty development, research support and similar programs, gifts may be used for other purposes according to donors' wishes.

In fiscal 2009, donors provided more than $15 million in new gifts to the foundation. These contributions not only increase the foundation's net assets, but in doing so, increase the amount of those assets that can be invested.
